Awesome cd. Cycle 1 is a moderately harsh but mostly relaxing loop-driven noise track, great for chilling out and drifting away. Cycle 2 is a 40 minute epic of sirens, noises, loops, horns, hisses, clicks, field recordings, and a even melodic bass line! It's still noise but it's rarely harsh and approaches the outer limits of IDM or glitch/ambient at times. Really unusual and fascinating, Cycle 2 evolves a great deal over the course of it's 40 minute length. A real gem. The cd's packaging is quite nice too: a vibrant digipack with rainbow digital art by Masami Akita, and in sharp contrast the cd itself is sold black with very large bold Japanese characters on it. |
