| Comments: |
A recent work that incorporates prominant use of sampled rock drum beats looped endlessly while other looped sounds play on top. Again, we find that when Merzbow begins to approach "accessible" sonic territory, he often ends up even more alienating and discomforting. The loops of guitars and noises that play on top of the rigidly looping drums often slide slowly in and out of time with the drums, and the effect fights the listener as they attempt to make sense of the compositions. The looped drums dominate this release. Personally, I enjoy tracks 3 and 4 the most.
Dedicated to "Minazow," who is, at least at the time of this release, the only male elephant seal in Japan. Gatefold CD packaging.
